She would send my mother to the drug store on a Saturday afternoon to get her a beer. Back when they’d sell beer to any old little girl, apparently.

She managed several retail stores around the Charlotte NC area back in the 70’s and 80’s. 

Diana Shops, I think. Something like that. It’s all a little hazy now…
